About Evolve Development

Evolve Development wish to create distinctive, practical, enduring spaces for people to invest, live in, enjoy and be proud of. Started in 2003, it has completed a range of apartment, townhouse and community creation projects in locations ranging from city fringe to growth corridor locations.

The Evolve team consists of development professionals and corporate services personnel. Total head count is 10 and the development team currently has a strong community creation (land) focus. Evolve have a view that attention to detail and a commitment to quality is an essential part of their brand. They value individuals who treat their projects as if they were only selling to their family.

About the Role

Evolve wish to compliment their existing development delivery team focused on delivering large residential communities.

Evolve currently have two major projects presenting a strong pipeline:

  • Arramont, a 2,140-lot project consisting of multiple individually titled properties and stages.
  • Clyde South, approximately 2,000 lots working through strategic planning with the VPA.

The Evolve land development team consists of an existing Development Director and Project Manager. This Development Manager will be assigned individual responsibilities on the two active projects, with a major focus being Arramont.

The organisation takes a hands-on and proactive approach to their work. Someone who understands they need to have a mindset of treating expenditure like it was their own money and protecting the interests of investors is critical in the success of this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and direct the stages of design, construction, and compliance, which include project planning and budgeting.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders, such as authorities, consultants, contractors, and suppliers, to ensure project goals are achieved.
  • Organise and conduct project control group meetings, including preparing reports.
  • Monitor project progress by identifying potential risks and issues and implement appropriate strategies to mitigate them.
  • Attend and lead regular meetings with consultants, contractors, authorities, and other relevant parties as necessary.
  • Manage project budgets, monitor expenses, and establish measures for cost control.
  • Coordinate the preparation of tender documentation and processes for selecting preferred contractor(s).
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of the construction claim and variation process to ensure accurate reflection of completed works and agreed-upon budget.
  • Lead and supervise the compliance process with relevant consultants/authorities to ensure timely and efficient project completion.
  • Participate in the planning process and ensure compliance with planning requirements for design, construction, and compliance progress.
  • Take the lead in developing the project brief and/or design brief.
  • Oversee internal design reviews, presentations, and preparation of memos for Director approval.
  • Coordinate and guide project teams, providing support, guidance, and performance feedback to team members.
  • Cultivate a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages effective communication and teamwork.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and implement best practices in project management.

About You

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or other relevant discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years’ with a land developer or civil consultancy with experience delivering medium/large residential estate projects.
  • Strong internal and external stakeholder management skills.
  • High level computer literacy skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously, to execute multiple tasks simultaneously and to work to tight programs.

This role presents an opportunity for you to work closely with a highly experienced Development Director with a long tenure at Evolve as well allowing you to build on your project delivery experience with early stage development skills on a brand new project.
