Senior Development Manager – Master-planned Communities

This privately owned diversified developer has a strong project pipeline of Masterplanned Communities in key growth corridors across Melbourne. Operating a flat management structure with a culture of authenticity and community that underpins all their activities, this opportunity will suit a Senior Development Manager who is seeking a dynamic and professional organisation to take them further with their career, or an experienced DM seeking a new challenge and a step up in terms of responsibility. The Role

Reporting to Development Director, your role will be to oversee a portfolio of master-planned communities in Melbourne’s key growth corridors. This will include managing an enthusiastic development team to deliver on financial outcomes and project vision.

Responsibilities

The role will include:

  • Working through front end feasibility analyses for current and upcoming projects
  • Appointment and management of consultants to review design and construction documentation
  • Management of the town planning process including preparation of submission to council authorities through management and liaison with external Town Planning consultants
  • Management of the tender process including review of tender submissions from contractors and providing recommendations for appointment
  • Assessment and approval of progress claims and variations from contractors in accordance with the head construction contract
  • Manage, guide, and mentor the project team in all aspects of their professional development

Requirements

To be suitably qualified for this position you will possess:

  • Strong Development Management experience in land development
  • Proven track record of successful stakeholder relationships
  • Well-developed financial ability and commercial acumen, able to prepare and manage detailed feasibility studies and business cases
  • Experienced with front end planning of project launch to market
  • Sales and marketing experience, previous exposure to monitoring and managing active projects
  • A passion for the industry and desire to be instrumental in a growing business
