Senior Commercial Property Manager (General Manager)

With a growing portfolio in Sydney, a newly-created hands-on role has been created for a Senior Property Manager, (Asset Management).

About the Role:

As the Sydney-based Manager in this newly-created role, you will initially commission a new, 25,000 sqmt premium asset and latterly manage an additional CBD asset, which is currently outsourced. With integrity and teamwork a pillar of your personal mantra, you will be leading asset property management performance returns, as well as support strategy for future acquisitions.

Reporting to the General Manager in Melbourne, you’ll largely be working autonomously from the Sydney office and operate in the capacity as NSW-lead for all real estate matters. This is a busy, but rewarding role with two highly innovative and creative assets, with this in mind it’s essential you’re comfortable making important decisions and managing relationships with senior stakeholders to provide a respectful and positive tenant experience. You’ll be comfortable in tackling issues head-on and take the time to reflect on your own performance and benchmarks for continued professional development. You’ll promote collaboration and strive for excellence in all that you do. As the key asset manager for NSW, you’ll be given a great deal of autonomy to drive outcomes and work with passion – this role will not suit those who prefer rigid, defined positions with multiple layers of reporting as variety and velocity is a certainty!

The Senior Property / (Asset) Manager will be responsible for;

  • Asset Management of two key commercial properties and support for additional assets owned in both Sydney and Melbourne.
  • Spearheading innovation and technological improvements, finding new ways of doing things within the portfolio to improve outcomes for tenants and the owner.
  • Ensure excellence with the delivery of asset plan business objectives on-budget, adding value to investments under management.
  • Continue to develop sustainability and innovation credentials, enhancing the real estate proposition.
  • Directly leading on site teams, ensuring they have effective performance management and KPI’s.
  • Assessing and reviewing the feasibility of leasing proposals for the Assets under management.
  • Legal matters, ensuring compliance of the portfolio with regard to legislation.
  • Effective communication; both written and verbal to key stakeholders.
  • Drive all matters of property management directly, this is not an outsourced function.

About You:

  • Tertiary qualification in business, property, finance or economics.
  • At least seven year’s experience in property / asset management with a focus on commercial real estate within Australia – NOT Facilities Management.
  • Previous experience commissioning a significant asset is preferred but not essential.
  • Proven commercial acumen skills for financial reporting, combined with a high degree of I.T literacy.
  • Experience in and passion for property management, adding tangible value to assets, or the tenant experience.
  • Ideally having knowledge of valuation, investment analysis, research and joint-venture property partnerships.
  • You will be highly-polished, creative and have ambition while not forgetting to have fun along the way!

Please Note:

  • This role is NOT suited to those from an FM / Projects and construction background. It is essential that you have commercial property management experience.
