This non- for- profit purpose organisation owns and occupies one of the largest property portfolios in Victoria, with a central property support function providing expertise on all property and project related matters. Ensuring the properties it occupies and provides services from are well managed, maintained and compliant, is an essential part of the organisation’s function.

About the Role

As the Project Coordinator, you will provide support to the broader property and infrastructure projects team, as well as taking ownership of smaller projects. Projects will be initiated by reactive maintenance activities or by end user requirement to optimise space or change the use. Projects are managed through a procurement process, with larger projects over $100k requiring board approval. Structured scopes will be established for all value projects and a high level of detailed and stakeholder engagement will be required.

Duties

  • Support the Senior Infrastructure Advisor / Project Manager in providing guidance and advice on a range of capital works projects for stakeholders.
  • Prepare project scopes, assessments and approvals for stakeholders.
  • Assist stakeholders through all phases of minor and major construction projects, from planning and tender preparation to contracting and project completion.
  • Develop, promote, and review preventive maintenance measures, programs, and reports, including cost estimates for any necessary works.
  • Create and review scopes of work for subcontractors, as well as procure quotations from trades and suppliers for building projects.

Skills and Experience

  • Certificate or Diploma Qualification in the building construction industry preferred but not essential.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in construction, project management, facilities management or similar.
  • Knowledge of design, building codes, construction materials, contract procurement and contract management or similar role essential
  • Demonstrated experience in presenting projects to stakeholders and managing multiple projects.
  • Process driven and detail orientated.

This role will require travel around Metro and Regional Victoria regularly, pool cars available.
