The Company

A privately owned Australian Developer with decades of experience in delivering projects in Melbourne. With a range of projects in different sectors including residential, commercial and retail, this company has a mandate to acquire a number of projects over the next year or two.

The Role

Reporting to the COO, you will be responsible for managing several different projects with a particular focus on the earlier stages. Typical duties are relatively diverse and may include feasibilities using Estate Master, highest and best use analysis, due diligence, market research, financial management including budgets and forecasts and project funding and financing, master planning, development approvals, town planning applications, design, internal and external stakeholder management, Pre-Leasing Activities including AFL’s, monthly project reporting including PCG’s, appointing and managing consultants, managing external builders under a D&C contract, delivery and program management etc.

Skills & Experience

In this newly created role, you will need to demonstrate an understanding of Commercial, Industrial, Retail or Residential Asset classes. The ability to work well under pressure, manage your own workload and manage multiple tasks at one time. Have exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal skills. The company is looking for someone who is a self-starter, proactive with a positive outlook. To be considered for this role you must have:

  • Graduated with a tertiary degree in Property or a related discipline.
  • A strong understanding of feasibilities and budget control. Estate Master experience is highly desirable.
  • In depth knowledge of the planning process including management of planning consultants, councils, and authorities.
  • A thorough understanding of development, commercial contracts, and local regulations.
  • An understanding of leasing and marketing strategies is preferable.
  • Strong stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • A strong motivation to learn.
