The Company

This business is the development arm of a group of business including property and construction and has been in operation for over 20 years. Specialising in luxury apartments and town house developments around the inner suburbs of Melbourne with about 10 projects underway at different stages.

The Role

As a Development Manager you’ll be managing all development activities of current and future projects while supporting other business areas where required. Reporting to the Development Director and working alongside another Development Manager you’ll be covering projects across the portfolio to ensure on time and on budget delivery within quality guidelines.


Your responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Appointment and coordination of various consultants
  • Management of concept design and working them through to construction documentation
  • Oversight of value management activities associated with review of final designs
  • Management of the town planning process including preparation of documentation and liaison with council and other authorities.
  • Preparation of build contract documentation ensuring the risk is minimised
  • Management of the delivery process, administration of build contract including oversight of external Project Managers where required
  • Assisting in project completion and settlement process including coordination of defects.


To be suitably qualified for this position you will ideally have experience with similar projects as a Development Manager or seeking a progression step from an Assistant DM position with at least 3 years’ experience. Preferably, you’ll come from a Planning background, but others will be considered as long as you’ve had experience in the earlier stages of residential built form projects. You’ll also need to possess excellent communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to easily build and maintain relationships.
