The Organisation

The Opportunity

The Building Maintenance Officer is a newly created role as part of the evolving strategy to ensure MCM’s expanding facilities footprint is maintained to the highest quality, in a responsive and cost-effective capacity. Reporting directly to the Sr FM and working as part of the property team the role will be responsible for assessing and completing reactive maintenance repairs, as well as the coordination and auditing of specialist sub-contractor works. The role will be hands on in nature and ideal for those candidates looking for an opportunity that will allow you work on the tools whilst interfacing directly with customers and staff at each of MCM’s facilities.

The role offers autonomy within your day, whilst ensuring that close support and ongoing mentoring is provided by the Sr FM and Head of FM as the role expands to assist in the planning and development of maintenance routines and facilities management strategy.

The Candidate

  • Demonstrate strong experience in commercial building maintenance, a trade qualification is highly desirable
  • Able to identify and trouble shoot maintenance issues and equipment breakdowns
  • Expertise in undertaking asset audits using industry software platforms
  • In depth knowledge of current building safety and compliance requirements
  • Input and manage asset data and routine maintenance plans using the CMMS system
  • Responsible for the coordination and supervision of sub-contractors
  • Provide input and support into the development of maintenance and asset lifecycle planning
  • Take a pro-active approach in every aspect of your work
  • Show strong EQ and the ability empathise with MCM staff and clientele
