The Role

Based in Melbourne, this company is seeking an Assistant Development Manager to assist and manage the development of an existing successful community in one of Victoria’s most active growth corridors. While this may be an Assistant DM role, you will be reporting straight to the Senior Development Manager and working mostly autonomously. Responsibilities will include assisting with and/or management of:

  • Project Due Diligence, process covering market research, target markets, planning controls, design, visioning, risks, etc.
  • Feasibility studies on the sire to determine project viability with regard to costs and expected profit.
  • Appointment of design consultants and working closely with them to produce concept designs.
  • Planning consultants, councils and authorities to lodge planning submissions and achieve planning approvals.
  • Sales & Marketing campaigns including liaison with Marketing consultants and Sales agents.
  • Overall project delivery including tendering, contract administration, program review, budget forecasting, cash flow presentation, etc.
  • Various other tasks across the development life-cycle on various projects as required.


To be considered for this role you will need to hold a property related degree (Property, Valuations, Town Planning, Civil Engineering, etc.) and have experience in either development or delivery of master-planned community projects. Experience in civil construction or staged delivery of land subdivision projects will be advantageous. In addition, you’ll need to be professionally presented, engaging, confident and possess the motivation to take on high level responsibilities proactively.


This opportunity will be a step up for most ADMs in terms of responsibility and will see you on a fast progression to Development Manager within 12 to 18 months. With the support and mentor-ship of the current team, your career will be well taken care of in the years to come.
